Two Nights Walking Safari Overview

Day One

Where the Story begins

12:00 Arrival

Upon arrival in the afternoon at Zinzi River Lodge, on the banks of the Olifants River, you are welcomed into a tranquil wilderness atmosphere. After a short orientation and briefing outlining the journey ahead, we set off on foot at 13:00.

13:00 Setting out for Safari

Your journey begins with a three-hour guided walk through the untamed wilderness of Zinzi Private Game Reserve, located in the heart of the Greater Kruger’s Hoedspruit region. As you move quietly across the landscape, expert guides help you track wildlife and tune into the rhythm of the bush — from the subtle signs of a passing elephant to the call of distant birds.

17:30 Arrival at Isitini Camp

At the end of the day, we arrive at Isitini — our second tented camp — perched above the peaceful basin of Nyoshi. As the firecrackles and the first stars scatter across the sky, the rhythm of the bushslows and we ease into the stillness of the wild. Drinks are poured, the warmth of the flames on our faces, and the smell of dinner drifts through camp — ahearty meal cooked over the fire, rich with the flavors of the bush.

The night deepens as we gather close, plates in hand, voices low, sharing stories and laughter under the endless African sky. Each detail — the glow of the embers, the taste of food after a long day’s walk, the cool night air carrying the sounds of distant wildlife — draws us into the calm and comfort of Isitini. Here, the wilderness holds us gently, and sleep comes easily beneath the canvas.

Day Two

Into Big Five Country

05:30 Rise with the Wild

At dawn, with the air still cool and the sounds of francolins and distant baboons echoing through the bush, we rise at 05:30. Coffee and rusks by the fire warm us up for the day ahead.

06:30 Second Day on Foot Begins

By 06:30, we set out on foot for a long walk through a breathtaking section of the reserve.

The land begins to shift — thornveld gives way to open plains and ancient hills, home to all kinds of wildlife. Over the course of the next 5 to 6 hours, we track, interpret signs, and immerse ourselves in nature.

10:00  Lunch in the Wild

Around midday, we pause for a well-earned bush lunch. We rest, recharge, and take it all in. After lunch, we continue on a gentle walk toward Isitini Camp.

17:30 Arrival at Zinzi River Lodge

The walk gradually leads us back toward Zinzi River Lodge. Every step feels like closing a circle, bringing the journey to its natural end.

Day three

06:00 Morning Coffee & Rusks

Our last day begins with a quiet coffee and rusks at sunrise. It’s a gentle farewell to the bush.

06:30 – 09:00 Morning Game Drive

We set off on a final game drive as the reserve comes alive with early light. It’s one last chance to spot wildlife before departure.

09:00 – 10:00 Breakfast at the Lodge

A hearty breakfast awaits back at the lodge. The morning is unhurried, giving time to reflect on the journey.

10:00 Departure

After breakfast, farewells are exchanged and bags are packed. You leave with memories of three nights fully immersed in the wilderness.

Since all of our walks are exclusive, the exact timing and pace of the day will be discussed with you upon arrival and tailored to suit your needs, fitness levels, and interests.
